Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Luke 12:6-7
Picture this little scene, one Jesus himself might have painted for us:
A disabled man was begging in front of a grocery store, a place he often sat hoping for someone kind to come along. After a long while, a woman with a shopping cart full came out of the store. She was a generous person and gave the beggar a bag of food from her cart – bread and meat and fruit.
The question that came to mind was; “Which of the two has the greatest worth – the greatest amount of value? The disabled beggar or the well-to-do person who so willingly gave?”
There are two answers really. The world will say one and God will say another. The world looks at our net worth and capability. God looks at us for who we are, with a value greater than any money could buy.
Which are you going to listen to?
May God fill you with a rich knowledge of his love.
