My forgotten story

As a result of the many painful things that happened to me, the good parts of my story that occurred in the years between 2000 and 2015 have been forgotten. I led a vibrant life during those years, accomplishing much. Speaking and writing, raising awareness in the Christian Church. It made a difference. The Church started to see mental illness in a different light and became more accepting. Living Room started giving Christ-centered support to people who had been shamed out of their churches.

When I retired from Living Room in 2015, all the good I had done was forgotten. I have written much about the pain I went through at that time.

But today I’m putting the finishing touches on a book that will tell the good parts of my story—the parts that have been forgotten. It’s really about God and how good he was to me. He did it all. I was only his foot soldier.

Thanks to the many journals I wrote, the blog I started in 2006, and emails I kept, my memories have remained safe. I can tell my story in great detail. I’m hoping this book will do much to inspire and build confidence in those who live with mental health challenges like I do.

Readers will see how a person was able to accomplish much, thanks to her dedication to God, and despite great mental health struggles. They will hear the voice that was once lost, come to life again.
