LIVING ROOM MEMORIES  209

(November 27, 2008)

Yesterday a wise person pointed me to some scripture that is helping me through this time. Reading it is helping me feel filled up and at peace. She suggested I read often from Psalm 37. I’ll quote it here from the Amplified Bible:

Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of you heart. Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident also in Him and He will bring it to pass….Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him. (verses 3-5 & 7a)

I am learning to lean more on God and less on people. Things had gotten so I was reaching out to my friends much too much, hoping they would fix me. But – and I should know this by now – only God can give me true rest and comfort.

The last couple of days have been better. Perhaps I am turning around?
