Anyone who withholds kindness from a friend
forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

Job 6:14

It’s all about love, isn’t it? It’s about forgiving others for who they are and what they’ve grown to be. It’s how we follow God.

Can anyone who’s hurt by others help it when they’re no longer able to be the person God intended them to be? Could Job help being Job? Could he help his suffering? Of course he couldn’t. Suffering changes people. At least, for a while.

But Job did not give up on God. He never forgot that God was there and that he could talk to him, no matter what:

Do I have any power to help myself,
now that success has been driven from me? (Job 6:13)

And yet…by the end of his life, he prospered like never before. Simply because, despite the suffering, he did not lose sight of God.
