Yes, I was deeply grateful for my Living Room ministry and for being useful in this way. Grateful to have work I was able to do. But when I lost it due to ill health, I suffered greatly. Not just from my illness – greater than I’d ever experienced in the past – but from the losses I had suffered.

I struggled to continue supporting people with mental health problems in whatever way I could by writing devotionals for them. But that will never replace the joy of sitting at a table with a group sharing the love of Christ.

I struggle to find ways of replacing this work. But maybe, at the age of 72, I’ve just grown too old.
